As part of its ongoing efforts to collect as much evidence as possible against Dera Sacha Sauda, the police today arrested the IT head of the controversial organization. Dera’s chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has already been convicted in a rape case and has been sentenced to jail for 20 years. Now, the police are focusing on other people and entities that may be involved in illegal and unlawful activities conducted at Dera. The police also want to investigate the suspicions related to black money and money laundering. This is why the police have arrested Vineet Kumar, who is the IT head of Dera Sacha Sauda. The police have recovered 60 hard disks based on the information provided by Kumar.
It has been revealed to the police that the Dera management had changed various hard disks before security agencies began the court-ordered search of Dera headquarters near Sirsa in Punjab. Many of the hard disks were also tampered with, most probably aimed at destroying evidence. The police also made other arrests today including Harmel Singh, the driver of Lexus SUV owned by Dera. The car was burned on August 28, near Phoolkan village. It was the same day when Dera chief was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. Another member Bhag Singh has also been arrested by the police. Rs 14 lakh have been recovered from Bhag Singh.
