Newspatrolling: The special investigation team (SIT) that has been formed to investigate cases of violence that happened after the court announced its verdict for Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has found that Dera had given around Rs 5 crore to various groups and individuals to incite violence. This was done after Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted of rape by a special CBI court in Panchkula. The people who are being investigated for inciting violence include key Dera Sacha Sauda members Aditya Insaan, Honeypreet Insaan and Surender Dhiman Insaan. Investigations have revealed the name of Chamkaur Singh, who was Dera’s Panchkula branch head. He was the primary individual who was responsible for procuring and spending the money received from Dera management. Chamkaur Singh is currently absconding along with his family. He has gone underground since a sedition case was lodged against him on the directions of the High Court on August 28.
The investigators have also found evidence that money was sent to other parts of Punjab as well. Dera followers were provided the assurance that they will be compensated in case of injury or death during protests. The investigators feel that they would be able to get more detailed information once they arrest Chamkaur Singh. The police are conducting raids at various places to find and arrest Chamkaur Singh. The investigators are also on the lookout for another prominent person who is believed to have provided money for inciting violence.
