Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Vir Bhadra Singh has declared that Dharamsala will from now on be the 2nd official capital of the hilly state of Himachal Pradesh. Dharamsala, which is located in the Dhauladhar range, was declared as the second capital due to its significance, history and importance for lower areas of the state, especially Kangra, Hamirpur, Chamba and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh.
Many people from these districts have to travel to Shimla for all their official Government work. Now with the special status given to Dharamsala, they can get their work done here.
