Special judge Poonam Chaudhry on friday emamded the alleged Hawala operator to two days police custody in connection with the alleged election commission bribery case for TTV Dinakaran to get hold of the suspended Two leaves party symbol for AIADMK.
Another main person connected with the case Sukesh Chandrasekhar who was produced before the judge due to the expiry of the police custody has been sent to judicial custody till May 12 since the interrogation with him is no longer required.
The alleged hawala operator named Nathu Singh, who was arrested by the Delhi Police on Friday night, claiming he was given Rs 1 crore to hand it over to Chandrashekar by the TTV Dinakaran camp to be paid as bribe to Election Commission officials was given the police custody to be interrogated further.
This arrest came a little later after Dinakaran’s arrest which was effected on 25th April. Nathu Singh was apprehended at the Delhi Airport in connection with the alleged involvement in ‘illegal transfer’ of money between the middleman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and Dinakaran, said a senior police officer.
Dinakaran is still in police custody since he was reprimanded to five days custody of Delhi Police along with his close aide Mallikarjuna who has been remanded till May 1.
The Crime branch has not only searched the residences of Dinakaran but also questioned his wife since she was said to be present at the time of hand over of money and also searched Mallikarjuna’s residence too.
