As a mark of respect and honor and to celebrate India’s 68th Republic Day, the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, was lit up in the Indian Tricolor – saffron, white and green. The official Twitter page of Burj Khalifa uploaded a post that read, “#BurjKhalifa wishes The #RepublicOfIndia a Happy National Day.”
The lighting was part of an LED show that was held thrice on Wednesday and will continue on Thursday night. It will be accompanied with complimenting Dubai Fountain shows on Thursday. Speaking on this spectacular LED show, Dubai-based real estate company, Emaar, issued a statement that read, “The visual expression of the tri-colors underlined the solidarity of the UAE and its people with India, with which the nation shares strong cultural and trade ties.”
At 823 meters, Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building. Burj Khalifa was named as a mark of respect and honor to Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates. Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was the Chief Guest at the Republic Day parade on Thursday.
The LED show was a huge success, as thousands of people had gathered to watch the mesmerizing display of technological artistry. Indian nationals, locals and people from around the world seemed quite delighted to watch the scintillating LED show.
