During UPA government, deal of 111 aircraft purchase sees FIRs

In recent past, the investigation is hurled by Central Bureau of Investigation in two major decisions, the purchase of 111 new airplanes and union of Air India and Indian Airlines. During the UPA government, many of the leaders are seen as the involved people also it is said that Manmohan Singh the past prime minister was also aware of the matter.

 The FIRs shows that the people at higher level misused position in buying the 111 aircraft.

Afterward, the sequence of discussions during Group of Ministers conferences, choice of buying 111 aircraft’s at a cost of Rs 70,000 crores was occupied. The meetings were led by the previous Finance Minister P Chidambaram. Also, the choice for the union of Air India with Indian Airlines was occupied after a sequence of conferences by the ministers.

Other than ministers, Praful Patel, the civil aviation minister was also involved and in the direction of buying the air crafts, he did initiate.

After the allegations made, the former Civil Aviation Minister said that both major choices were made correctly and in the process, security thoughts were also maintained.

He said that the old aircraft were getting older and the time has come to bring new aircraft to see the security aspects. Moreover, all the old aircraft were purchased during Rajiv Gandhi’s tenure as the prime minister of the country.
