North India witnessed earthquake on Monday night as an earthquake struck measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale. Baron Basti in Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand is reportedly the epicentre of the quake.
There have been no casualties reported due to the quake. It jolted Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department of India reported it as a moderate quake which occurred at 10:33 p.m.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh took stock of the situation after the quake.
PM also tweeted his pray and said that PMO is in constant touch with officials in Uttarakhand.
