Hitachi, India’s 3rd highest selling air-conditioner brand, is bullish on demand and all set to seize the market leadership by 2020. Going forward, the company plans to expand its channel partnerships and strategic alliances as a part of the strategy to increase market share in tier 2, 3 cities and maintain y-o-y growth rate of 24% in RAC segment.
In the drive to become the No.1 HVAC Company, Mr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited, part of global air-conditioning major Johnson Controls-Hitachi, recently visited Bhopal to ally and strengthen company’s partnership with its channel partners. Mr. Singh visited Mr. Sajal Vyas, owner of Kool solutions, Mr. Krishan Kumar Vijayvargiy owner of Ace Business Corporation, Hitachi’s top two distinguished trade partners for both residential and commercial cooling segment in the Madhya Pradesh market.
During his interaction with the media while inaugurating Kool Solutions’ another office in the city, Mr. Singh quoted “We have been consistently gaining market share over the past few years across various segments. Our expansion and expropriation strategy focuses on investing in brand building, development of energy efficient products, strengthening our channel network and improving our post sale services. Liaising with our channel partners is on the top of our priority list and we value their contribution and support in our mutual growth. We aim to establish long overhauling relationship based on mutual growth and trust and it is our constant endeavor to respect and value our partners.” Mr. Gurmeet is also the first Indian to be ever appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of the company (after becoming subsidiary of foreign promotors)
Hitachi currently has a strong nationwide distribution network. It currently consists of over 10,000+ sales points and more than 290 exclusive sales and service dealers. In a drive to expand its market by the year 2020, the company which already has good market share in the top 20 cities has forayed into Tier 2 and 3 cities and towns. The company which has ~ 12%+ market share currently, is optimistic about its journey ahead.
Talking about Hitachi’s product lineup, Mr. Gurmeet said, “Hitachi is a great brand with an excellent bouquet of products and features that disrupt the market. From our manufacturing factory in Kadi, Gujarat, we are manufacturing a wide range of cooling solutions like Room AC, VRF systems, Ductable Air Conditioners, Chillers and Spacemakers. It is our constant endeavor to empower our customers by giving them the opportunity to own a Hitachi over other run of the mill air conditioning brands. In B2C Segment, Hitachi has total 102 models with a majority of the lineup to be shifted to inverter technology in the next year. In B2B segment, Hitachi offers SET-FREE Sigma (∑) Series of VRF Air conditioning solutions. This series has been designed with global expertise especially for the Indian climate and consumers. Hitachi also has Toushi Ductable Air Conditioners, Flexi Split ACs and 8 new models of Cassette ACs in Light Commercial PAC. The company’s PAC business grew by 18%.
Mr. Singh also said, “Madhya Pradesh is an important market for us. We have done many important and huge projects in Madhya Pradesh with both Kool Solutions and ACE Business Corporation like Smart City Project, NTPC Khargone, RK Jain Hospital, Oriental School etc. and are also associated with CPWD, SBI, LIC, IIT and IIM for their air conditioning.”
In its B2B segment, Hitachi has launched its new SET-FREE Sigma (∑) Series. This series has been designed with global expertise especially for the Indian climate and consumers. It offers higher energy efficiency, engineered aesthetics, enhanced strengths, compact design, compact cooling and heating. Hitachi has also introduced Toushi Ductable Air Conditioners, Flexi Split ACs and 8 new models of Cassette ACs in Light Commercial PAC. The company’s PAC business grew by 18%. 3 new imported models in Air Cooled Screw Chillers, Water Cooled Screw Chillers and Direct Drive Centrifugal Chillers were also introduced.
