In this assembly election BJP’s had promised to waive the farmer’s loan if BJP government comes in state. With huge victory, BJP established government in Uttar Pradesh.
To meet the promise, yesterday Yogi Adityanath led government waived crop loans of some 86 lakh farmers loan of about 36,000 crore.
The meet was also finalized to set up 5,000 wheat buying points in the Uttar Pradesh.
This will remove middlemen interference and need and farmers would be selling to these wheat points by displaying Aadhaar card or the land documents.
It was announced that loans of up to Rs 1 lakh taken small farmers and having fewer than five acres land, until 31st March, 2016 will be waived off. Loan of Rs. 5,630 crore, given to farmers also decided by government to write off and asked banks to put this loan amount in non-performing assets.
