Leader in enterprise satellite networking, focused on government, e-learning, banking, defense, and retail services celebrates 20 years with over 40% market share
New Delhi, India, 31 March 2015—Hughes Communications India Limited (HCIL), a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), the global leader in broadband satellite networks and services, today announced its 20 year anniversary providing high quality services to its Indian customers.
Over the years HCIL has maintained its leading market share of the enterprise VSAT market in India, having sold over 100,000 units. According to TRAI performance indicators report for Q3-2014, HCIL’s cumulative market share is at 42.6% (up from 42.1% for Q2-2014).

According to the Indian Satcom Report of 2014, total demand for satellite transponders is projected to rise from 214 in 2013 to 376 by 2023, and for High Throughput Satellites (HTS) from 0.8 Gbps to 10.9 Gbps, representing an annual growth rate of 30%. HCIL has over 350 enterprise customers in India across a wide range of market verticals including Banking, Telecom, Retail, Government, Defense, and Online Distance Learning, supporting them in more than 2000+ cities and towns.
