On Friday former CBI Director Joginder Singh passed away after lengthy disease. He was 77 years old. Mr. Singh was an IPS officer and CBI director during 1996-1997. At present he was director Pamwi Tissues Ltd and also he was associated as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Sunil Healthcare Ltd for past 16 years.
Mr. Singh joined Police Service at very early age of 20. Mr. Singh authored many books which includes Make a Way Where There is none and Inside CBI. He was also active in articles contribution, to many newspapers on subjects like terrorism, good governance and corruption. He wrote about 25 books on various subjects after being retired from service.
CBI’s former director Mr. Singh received awards such as Delhi Rattan, Punjabian Di Shan and Panth Rattan for his excellence approach and work.
He served as Inspector General in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and commanded many delegations to United Kingdom, United State of America and many European countries on the government behalf.
Before Mr. Singh’s CBI spell, he was Superintendent of Police in Bihar, DIG and IG Police in Karnataka, Director of Youth Services in Karnataka, Special Home Secretary to the Government of Karnataka, Director General, Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force and many other prominent positions.
