Newspatrolling: In a significant discovery, it has been revealed that the deadly fire that killed 79 people in Grenfell Tower in London was caused by a fridge. Investigations have revealed that the fire was started in a fridge manufactured by Whirlpool Corp. However, the rapid spread of fire was due to the exterior cladding of the building, which was made of a material that was combustible. The police are now examining if criminal charges can be filed against anyone directly related to the starting and spread of the fire that killed 79 people and injured several others. “We are looking at every criminal offense from manslaughter onwards,” Detective Superintendent Fiona McCormack said.
The fridge that caused the fire has the model number Hotpoint FF175BP. Meanwhile, Whirlpool said that the fridges of this specific model were manufactured by Indesit between 2006 and 2009. The model was discontinued long before Whirlpool acquired Indesit. “We are working with the authorities to obtain access to the appliance so that we can assist with the ongoing investigations,” the company said in a statement. “We are addressing this as a matter of utmost urgency and assisting the authorities in any way we can.”
