The police finally took decisive action against the missing UP Minister Gayatri Prajapati by issuing non-bailable warrants against him and six of his associates in the alleged rape and molestation case. The police have also revoked Prajapati’s passport for four weeks, after the possibility dawned that the minister may try to flee the country. A look out notice has also been issued against Prajapati. An alert has been issued to all international ports to be on the lookout for Prajapati. The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), which guards UP’s border with Nepal, has also been asked to be on the lookout for Prajapati, as he may try to escape to Nepal.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav responded to the development, saying that law will take its course and the culprits will be caught and tried as per the legal structure. The police have been searching for Prajapati since several days, but still they have been unable to locate him. Prime Minister Modi targeted the SP-Congress alliance during an election meeting in Jaunpur and said, “In this country, when we do something good, we chant the Gayatri Mantra. But, the SP-Congress alliance is chanting the ‘Gayatri Prajapati Mantra’.
