Bhubaneswar, 3 December 2014: With only a couple of days left for the Hero Men’s Champions Trophy 2014 to commence, the teams are gearing up for the upcoming challenge and practicing rigorously. In a bid to run-through their on-ground tactics and game approach to accomplish the desired end result, the Argentina Men’s Hockey Team did their groundwork comprehensively early morning today at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar.
Also known as the Los Leones, the Argentinean men are putting in their best efforts and are practicing new modules to give a finishing touch to the preparations. Led by the very proficient captain – Lucas Rey, the team is ready to take on the opponents with its full strength and vigour.
Speaking on the preparations of his team, Captain Lucas Rey said, “We have been practicing on a daily basis since the day we arrived at Bhubaneswar so that we get accustomed to the pitch and the weather situation. These sessions are proving to be really beneficial as we get an opportunity to brush up our know-how and game strategies. With the practice in full swing, we are getting hold of the playing conditions which I am sure will act as a morale booster and contribute to the fine performance of the team in matches to come.”
Satisfied with his team’s practice, Head Coach Carlos Retegui said, “The training sessions are picking up pace and I am quite pleased with the manner the boys have been performing in the sessions, quickly learning and unlearning the necessary skill-sets. While the team is geared up for the tournament, they are putting in their best during the practice in a composed manner. I am confident that these sessions will prove to be of assistance to the team helping them to produce respectable results in the impending games, against the opponents.”
Argentina will play its first match against The Netherlands on the inaugural day of the Hero Men’s Champions Trophy 2014, on December 06, 2014(Saturday).
