Adding misery to the ongoing troubles of United Airlines, a 3-foot-long giant rabbit died at a the pet holding facility of the airline in Chicago following a flight from London.
The airline is already facing embarrassment and a global backlash over dragging of a passenger from his seat.
The 10-month-old Continental Giant breed rabbit Simon was in good condition when he arrived at Chicago’s O’Hare airport.
Simon was about to become one of the world’s largest rabbit.
United Airlines spokesman Charles Hobart said Simon was brought here as a celebrity bought him, however when a United worker later checked on Simon, he found he had died,
The cause of death has not yet been determined, as the airlines was reviewing the cause.
Hobart said the airline had offered to carry out a postmortem investigation on the rabbit, but the owner had declined.
