In a development that could be a big relief to central security forces, the government is planning to give a minimum compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of all central security personnel who may be martyred while fighting for the country. An announcement regarding this was made today by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is on a 4-day visit to the troubled state of Jammu and Kashmir. Rajnath made the statement when he was addressing a gathering organized at the Khanabal headquarters of the 90th battalion of CRPF. “It is my aim that at least Rs one crore should be given as monetary relief to families of martyrs of our central armed forces personnel,” Rajnath said.
Rajnath also talked about various important topics such as providing helicopters to CRPF in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the CRPF has emerged as amongst the best forces in the country and every citizen is proud of their bravery and the sacrifices that they have done. Earlier, during the day, Rajnath had also addressed a gathering of the Jammu and Kashmir police. He had thanked them also for their tremendous efforts in battling terrorism and working under extremely difficult conditions. Rajnath also requested the local people to support the government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism from the Kashmir Valley and to help reclaim its earlier title of ‘heaven on earth’.
