Government says in Rajya Sabha that at least 55,000 villages in India, not having mobile connectivity and government is putting efforts to bring connectivity there.
Manoj Sinha, Minister of State for Communications said letters from the ministry is sent to all Chief Secretaries and Chief Ministers to deliver a detail of villages which are not having the mobile connectivity.
Minister also mentioned that government has made strategy as per the priorities and is already occupied on applying its plans for confirming coverage particularly in mountainous and Left-wing extremism-affected parts.
Renuka Chowdhury of Congress told in parliament that mobile towers are destroyed in maoist ferocity. Manoj Sinha, committed in replying, that such issues will be resolved.
