Bangalore, January 20, 2015 – Greenwood High International School hosted the regional championship of the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and Jr.FLL India at its campus.  The event theme this year called FLL World Class – Learning Unleashed, saw participation by several teams from across the state.

5 teams namely Deccan Tech, Hyderabad, Dhanya-NAFL, Bangalore, Flaming Phoenix – Greenwood High, Bangalore, Pentatronix, Bangalore and Masterminds – Akshara Foundation, Bangalore qualified in the regional level to compete in the nationals to be held on February 05 & 06, 2015 at New Delhi. The national winners will be competing in the world level robotics competition, to be held at St. Louis in the United States of America (US) from April 23rd to 26th, 2015.

It is an annual international robotics competition organised by India STEM Foundation, a not for profit organization for children aged between 9 and 16 and aims at promoting interest in technology and the spirit of innovation in students. The event provided a platform for young scholars to develop their problem solving skills, creativity and level of education in subjects like Science and Mathematics.

FIRST LEGO League introduces younger students to real-world engineering challenges by building LEGO-based robots to complete tasks on a thematic playing surface. FLL teams, guided by their imaginations and adult coaches, discover exciting career possibilities and, through the process, learn to make positive contributions to society. There are total three parts in the league, namely Robot Game, Project Research and Core Values.
