Ujjain police have arrested a man claiming himself as BJP President’s nephew who was on a duping spree.
The police was in search of the con after Naresh Sharma, an associate of BJP MLA Dr Mohan Yadav had complained against the man of duping him by posing as Shah’s nephew.
The arrested has been identified as Viraj Singh alias Yash Amin, a resident of Gujrat’s Gandhinagar.
Sharma had earlier complained to the police that Amin posed himself as Shah’s nephew. At no point of time Sharma felt he was falling into a trap and got duped of Rs65,000 and a high-end smart phone.
The local police told the media that after learning about the con man teams were formed to nab Amin.
One of the teams got a tip-off that Amin had boarded a bus to Indore. Police team arrested him near Petlawd.
During questioning Amin informed the police he starting conning people after his girlfriend refused to marry him and married a man with title Shah. He also confessed to the police that he had duped several people in Rajasthan, Gujrat, Kerala and Maharashtra posing himself as Shah’s nephew.
The court has sent Amin in police remand till August 12.
