On Friday morning seven-year-old boy was found dead inside the washroom of the Gurgaon-based Ryan International School.
His body was found dead by fellow school students at around 8am.
Late Friday night, Gurgaon Police said that they arrested a bus conductor, identified as Ashok Kumar, employed by Ryan International School.
Police officials said that the killer attempted to sexually abuse the boy before murdering him.
Ashok, the conductor, said that he killed the boy after the 7-year-old resisted his attempts to sexually abuse him.
According to the police, Ashok had gone to the washroom to wash his knife.There, the bus conductor saw the 7-year-old and attempted to sexually abuse him.
However, the child started screaming, following which Ashok killed him.
The boy was rushed to the Artemis Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The deceased’s parents lashed out at the school authorities for failing to maintain security of their child.
Joined by other parents, they laid dharna outside the school premises, demanding action against the culprits, as well as the school management and officials.
The father of the murdered child alleged negligence on part of the school administration, “They told me his health deteriorated suddenly. They did not take care of my son. He could have been saved if he had been taken to hospital in time.”
Apart from the arrest of the bus driver, 9 other suspects have been detained, including a gardener, cleaner, bus drivers and conductors.
