Brisbane Australia, 11 December 2014: Performing intensely and continuing their winning spree, the Indian Junior Men Team toppled New Zealand 6-0 in the last game of the five-match test series in Australia, today. Harmanpreet Singh scored a hat-trick as the young Indian team finished the series 4-1. The games were being played at the Gold Coast, Australia and were in preparation for the 8th Men’s Junior Asia Cup in 2015.
The game began on a positive note for India as the Indian colts were awarded a penalty corner in the early minutes of the match. The extremely talented Indian defender Harmanpreet Singh took the strike and put the ball in the net, without leaving any room for mistakes. This gave India a desired lead of 1-0, pumping up the confidence and enthusiasm of the young lads. The initial goal of the game was successfully followed by a field goal by the Indian forward Parvinder Singh, taking the score up to 2-1 for India.
The young men of the New Zealand team made several attempts to penetrate the flawless Indian defence and take a shot at the goal but could not materialize any opportunity. The Indian defenders made sure none of the New Zealand players reach the nets in the entire game while the midfielders and forwards did their work faultlessly. Sumit Toppo scored the third goal for India and Harmanpreet shored up the score by another penalty corner conversion. In the later minutes of the game, Manpreet Singh found the net and scored the fifth goal of the match. Harmanpreet Singh struck again as he effortlessly converted another penalty corner awarded into the sixth and final goal, thus sealing a humongous victory for India.
