Entrepreneurship was definitely the career mantra of Harsh Shah, Co-Founder of Fynd, a unique fashion e-commerce portal which brings the latest in-store fashion online. At 21 years of age, while his IIT Bombay batch mates were dreaming big of bagging offers from corporate firms with hefty packages, Harsh had a long-term vision of turning into an entrepreneur. Fortunately, with his willpower and determination, he could realise his dream. The 29-year old young professional is now riding high on a success wave with his 2-year old fashion e-commerce portal.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Fynd is successfully disrupting the fashion market by combining technology and retail. The fashion portal directly sources products across various categories including clothing, footwear, jewellery and accessories from the most prominent brands in the country. The offline to online company channelizes its combined outreach to offer the best brands and fashion along with superior customer services- Fastest Discovery, Fastest Checkout and Fastest Delivery- to its ever-growing clientele. In Nov 2015, after Fynd launched iOS and Android apps to accelerate growth, the app downloads stood at just 10k at the beginning of 2016. The team decided to work on a strategy that comprised capitalizing on end-of-season sales; studied campaigns from other market players; explored numerous marketing channels for communication; created a buzz on social media and capitalised on technology. The result was phenomenal; in a span of just one month- end of February 2016-Fynd had clocked 100K downloads! Since then, their efforts in achieving exponential growth never came to rest and now Fynd stands strong with a user base of more than 7.5 Mn customers.
At Fynd, Harsh brings his valuable experience in technology and entrepreneurship to the table and oversees the supply side of operations, including managing partnering brands and stores. His keen interest in consumer-facing technology in the retail sector and management consulting have been instrumental in establishing Fynd as India’s largest O2O fashion ecosystem. Harsh holds a B.Tech degree and graduated in 2010 from IIT Bombay. He was already part of the entrepreneurship landscape by his second year of college. As the Head of the Entrepreneurship Cell at IIT Bombay, he directed a team of 20 students and led several programs that aimed at instilling the spirit of entrepreneurship in the Indian youth. In 2009, Harsh co-founded Nova Global, a start-up that connected leading global organisations with a network of high achieving, driven professionals and students. Nova Global went on to be nominated as one of the top hundred student-led start-ups of the world by NYSE. Between 2010 and 2013, Harsh served as a Strategy and Analytics Consultant at Opera Solutions, where he gained immense experience in customer segmentation and collections strategy.
Incepted in November 2015 by Harsh and his fellow co-founders, Farooq Adam, and Sreeraman MG, Fynd has grown to be a popular go-to fashion destination that offers best-in-class and seamless shopping experiences to all its customers. Harsh is focused on further cementing Fynd’s position as an undisputed O2O player in the fashion space. Under Harsh’s supervision, Fynd is poised to grow beyond a B2B/B2C platform and emerge as a pioneering firm in every sector where technology and retail intersect.
