New Delhi, December 20, 2018: In an effort to take Indian classical music to a wider audience, HCL Concerts presented yet another virtual only concert featuring the young classical fusion band “Pakshee”on December 19, 2018. The concert was streamed live on HCL Concerts’ official Facebook page and garnered viewership in India as well as abroad. The virtual concerts aim to offer people across the world a glimpse into Indian classical performing arts, from the comfort of their homes.
Pakshee is a fusion band comprising six young musicians, each with their own distinctive style. The band connects diverse tastes in music ranging from Jazz, Funk, Pop and Rock with Hindustani and Carnatic vocals to create exotic harmonies. The band has released two music videos since June 2017, Raah Piya and Kosh. Both the releases have consistently been within the Top 5 of the A-List: Indian Pop Playlist by Apple Music, surpassing the likes of Clinton Cerejo, Javed Ali, Raftaar, Local Train, Bipul Chhetri etc. The first single was also The Editor’s Pick of the Week and among Top 10 music videos of 2017 on Rolling Stone India.
HCL has championed the classical arts and has taken active steps to conserve and popularize it through HCL Concerts over the last 20 years. This year HCL launched the HCL Music app which is a free-to-download and use mobile application, dedicated to Indian classical music in order to help younger audiences appreciate the nuances of India’s ancient artforms.
