India’s largest two wheeler manufacturer has set up shop in the Argentina, South America. This is a step towards making Hero Motocorp a global business. It launched 4 bike models in Buenos Aires. The company had earlier appointed distributors for Argentina and had planned to launch its bikes in January, 2017. It met its target of launching in January.
Hero Motocorp will also be starting sales in African countries like Nigeria. This was the company’s first global launch of a new product outside of India.
Hero aims to be in 50 markets across the World by 2020.
Argentina is the 35th market that Hero has entered globally and aims to have over 90 dealerships by the end of this year. Hero launched the Ignitor, Dash scooter, Hunk and Hunk sports models of two wheelers. Hero has signed on Argentine Soccer great Diego Simeoneas its brand ambassador for Argentina.
Pawan Munjal, CEO and MD of Hero Motocorp, has said that they would be launching over 15 new models of bikes in the international and domestic markets sometime in this fiscal. 3 models will be launched in India before the onset of the festive season. Hero has international manufacturing plants in Bangladesh and Columbia. The Bangladesh plant will begin operations in the 4th quarter of this year.
