Hillary Clinton has launched a new political action organisation called “Onward Together” to fight against United States President Donald Trump’s agenda. The group would also look at raising the funds for five prominent progressive groups namely Swing Left, Emerge America, Colour of Change, Indivisible and Run for Something.
All the above mentioned groups are involved in various activities spanning across the USA.
“I believe more fiercely than ever that citizen engagement at every level is central to a strong and vibrant democracy,” Clinton said. She also added “More than ever, I believe citizen engagement is vital to our democracy. I’m so inspired by everyone stepping up to organise and lead.”
The former Democratic Presidential Candidate who also served as the Secretary of State urged her supporters to contribute towards her new venture which is setup aiming to take on President Donald Trump.
Clinton wrote on her website “Onward Together will work to build a brighter future for generations to come by supporting groups that encourage people to organise and run for office.” She had also tweeted saying ‘This year hasn’t been what I envisioned, but I know what I’m still fighting for: a kinder, big-hearted, inclusive America. Onward!’
By doing this, Clinton has joined the likes of Former President Barack Obama, Vermont Senator. Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean who all had helped in creating various political organisations.
Clinton had won nearly 66 million votes in November’s election before going down in a very narrow margin to give Trump, an unexpected win.
