Hindus urge global corporations to help conserve Hindu world heritage sites

Hindus have commended Panasonic Corporation for donating LED projectors to illuminate Prambanan Temple Compounds World Heritage Site in Indonesia.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, applauding Panasonic in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, stressed that other multi-national corporations should come forward to shoulder the burden of the upkeep, safeguarding and conservation of world Hindu heritage sites many of which were deteriorating due to lack of funding.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged Panasonic to do the same with other Hindu UNESCO World Heritage sites in Cambodia (Angkor Hindu temples, Temple of Preah Vihear), India (Mahabalipuram monuments, Konrak Sun Temple, Hampi monuments, Ellora Caves, Elephanta Caves, Chola Temples, Pattadakal monuments, Champaner-Pavagadh), Laos (Vat Phou settlements) and Vietnam (My Son Sanctuary).

Built in the 10th century, Prambanan Temple Compounds is the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia. Panasonic Corporation, founded in 1918 and headquartered in Osaka (Japan), is one of the largest electronic product manufacturers in the world.
