Foods for Your Eyes: Do you eat the foods that are good for the eyes? Well apart from carrots there are other foods too. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water to keep the body and eyes hydrated. Have foods which are rich with Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and beta carotene because they help in repairing your eyes. Try sweet potatoes, butter, papaya, blueberries, apricot and grapes which can work for healthier vision. If you think you are not getting the right kinds of vitamins then a supplement or multi-vitamin can be an option for you. DHA presents a structural support to cell membranes to boost eyes also.
Work out for Your Eyes: Don’t worry; you don’t have to hit a gym for that. There are simple exercises that will help you to maintain an optimal vision. Try these exercises with a relaxed mood in morning, before bed – time, or any time when your eyes feel tired. Remember to clean your hands. Massage your eyes after exercising.
- Rub your palms jointly to generate heat. Then place them against your eyes for 5 seconds. Do again this 3 times.
- Start off by looking up, and then gradually circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times anti clockwise.
- Grasp a pen or pencil at arm’s length; focus your eyes on it. Slowly bring the pen or pencil closer until it’s about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen.10 times in all.
Relax for Your Eyes: Since sleep lets overworked eye muscles to calm down entirely try to get sufficient rest. Don’t continue in one activity for too long. Take regular breaks just for 5-10 minutes to relax your eyes. While you shouldn’t be sleeping on your workplace, it is still essential to rest your eyes once in a while. If you are working on a computer for too long, then take a break for about 10 minutes for every 50 minutes.
For better eyesight, stay hydrated. Also you can just wash your face time to time. Avoid sweet foods as they are bad for your eyes. Try to use computer and phone in lower brightness level as it decreases strain. Don’t depend totally on your glasses. Take them off as frequently as possible, to help natural vision. Always protect eyes from the sun’s harmful UV light and glare with protective lenses. Try to rest and blink frequently especially when reading, working on a computer or watching television.
