Maoists ensnared a team of CRPF and killed 12 Jawans and hurting 4 others in Sukma district in tribal Bastar area of Chhattisgarh.
These CRPF jawans were part of a road opening party, which were dissipating the road between Bhejji and Kuttacheru when the Maoists rebels first produced a dominant improvised explosive device and then unlocked unselective fire at the injured security Jawan.
Sukma district SP Abhishek Meena said that extra support is rushed to the spot for release and respite operations. He mentioned that bodies of killed Jawans shifted to Bhejji and injured Jawans are flown to the state capital for cure.
As per the police Maoists burgled 10 arms and radio sets from the killed security Jawan.
Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Raman Singh labeled Maoist attack as example of weakness.
