India crushed Bangladesh yesterday in the ICC Champions Trophy warm up match which saw the defending champion winning the match by a staggering 240 runs. Having asked to bat first, India put up a huge score of 324-7 in the allocated 50 overs.
India lost the first wicket when the scorecard was just 3 since Rohit Sharma got out for 1 and lost Rahane too who scored 11 runs. Dhawan and Dinesh Karthi stitched a 100 run partnership for 3rd wicket before Dhawan got out. Kedar Jhadav scored a quick 31. When everything was going smooth for India, Dinesh Karthik got hurt and retired from the field. He was at 94 by then. Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya steered India to a commendable score since this pair scored a 86 runs partnership for the 6th wicket.
For Bangladesh, Mohd Hossain took 3 wickets.
Bangladesh came to bat next and they did not recover right from the early collapse since wickets were falling at regular intervals with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav taking 3 wickets each and the pair gave away just 29 runs for their 6 wickets scalp. At one time, the team was struggling at 22 for 6. Some respite came from the tail enders where Mehedi Miraz and Sunzamul Islam scored 24 and 18 runs respectively making the team to surpass 50 runs.
Shami, Bumrah, Pandya and Ashwin secured a wicket each washing away the Bangladesh team. The victory boosts the morale of the Indian team which is looking to defend its title yet again.
