The sight of Rajpath world generally witnesses only on Republic day will again be brought to television screens across the world when India celebrates the International Yoga Day. Sunday Morning will transform the broadest and grandest avenue of New Delhi, Rajpath, with a sea of colorful yoga mattresses where people from all across the globe will join in to perform the camel, cobra and many other postures of Yoga. Rising of the sun on International Yoga Day will witness about 35,000 people performing the world’s largest outdoor Yoga session on Rajpath, a feast that is likely to make it to Guinness book of world records.
The idea pitched in by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to United Nations General Assembly on its maiden speech in September was accepted and 21st June was declared as an official International Yoga Day. More than 170 countries have joined in to sponsor the move and the Indian government has called all its diplomatic force into action to make the 1st international Yoga day celebrations a grand success .
Yoga has been an heritage that has always belonged to India. Mr. Narendra Modi might have taken it a step forward, but the grass roots of yoga are deep inside the nation. Country’s first prime minister Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru was believed to start off each day with a Yoga session. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was also known to be a devotee of high profile Yoga Guru Dhirendra Brahamchari who used to broadcast yoga shows on State television. Yoga is no new to the nation, from backwaters of Kerala to the mountains of Himalayas early morning Yoga sessions in almost all the Parks are a common sight. The current Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi himself is said to spend approximate 20 minutes daily to Yoga and Meditation to stay in a relaxed state.
Experts have been roped in to teach yoga sessions to people on Rajpath this Sunday. The controversial Bureaucrat Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev is believed to be one of the 4 Gurus who will teach asanas to people. 28 giant screens will bring people close to teachers and make the learning easier. Cabinet Ministers will take up the charge across the nation at different venues to make the event a grand success. External affairs minister Shushma Swaraj will hold the fort at United Nations for India, Swaraj and Swami Ravi Shankar will attend the function at UNO Hall in New York.
The Indian army released out pictures of practise sessions of Yoga’s. Picturesque views of Kargil will see Army personnel performing Yoga at temperature of -20* c. While Mr. Narendra Modi will deliver a speech on Monday Morning he will not take part in the giant yoga session on Raj path.
