Amid the tensions with the neighboring Pakistan, the Indian Army concluded the show of strength under its ‘Thar Shakti Exercise’ in Rajasthan. The army claimed that the rehearsal was aimed at planning the battlefield mobility of soldiers as per the changing scenarios and troops administration. The Thar Shakti exercise is believed to be attended by around 20,000 soldiers with various types of artillery and tanks. This exercise started on April 10 and concluded yesterday successfully.
The army is trying to analyze the troop’s movement under fast-changing war-like environments as well as tactical situation management through airborne platforms.
The Indian Army’s exercise holds importance as the ties between India and Pakistan has deteriorated significantly over the past few months and recent case of Kulbhushan Jadhav seem to have put the nail in the coffin where the India has taken Pakistan to International Courts of Justice.
The Thar Shakti Exercise was held by the Chetak Corps of army including light combat vehicles, new state of art communication devices, surveillance sensors, tanks, artillery guns and 20,000 soldiers in the deserts of Rajasthan. The Air Force of India also participated in the exercise to check the synergy between both the elites of army.
The leader of the Chetak Corps of Army, GOC Lt General Ashwani Kumar looked satisfied with the preparation and show of strength of the armed forces.
The current situation between India and Pakistan has taken a very dangerous turn as Pakistan military court has ordered death sentence of former Indian Naval Officer claiming to a spy.
