Indian Hopes at Incheon Asian Games 2014

Hello All, it gives me great pleasure to write on the topic i have chosen today. As a diehard aspirant who will always hope to play field hockey in Indian tri colours till he dies, sports has been one topic that has stayed very close to me and my life. A traditional Patriotic Indian, I love to see our men and women crash the opponents in whatever sporting feast it may be. Obviously nothing compared to the flavour of an Indian Pakistan game which every Indian can feel, but other forms of game are also preferred given the fact we are diverse in terms of taste and population. I present this article where we put close looks on Hopes of 2014 Asian Games in Incheon. I will not discuss the pre games political hurdles which has caused delays and disheartened few players let’s look at the brighter side.

2010 performance in Guangzhou was the country’s best and the hopes are higher this year for us to steal more than 14 gold’s which we did last year. The total contingent size this year remains at 516 athletes and 163 coaches.

Wrestling has been one sport we have dominated and we will look for the same in the 2014 Incheon Games. High hopes rest on the shoulder of Yogeshwar Dutt and Amit Kumar. With Sushil Kumar the biggest medal hope in wrestling the torch lies in the hands of these 2 men to get the long awaited gold for the nation.

Former world number one and Ace Indian Archer Deepika Kumari will have a lot of eyes on her. With a last minute miss 4 years ago the bronze medal went away but hopes this year are high on Deepika Kumari.

Boxing: MC Marykom will have balls rolling after the recent biopic in bollywood. The Olympic bronze medal is eyeing for nothing less than gold this year.

P. Kashyap and PV Sindhu under the Guidance of Their coach Gopichand will look to sail India past the line and get the nation its well deserved Badminton Gold. Tough competition as always is expected from the Chinese contingent but Indian shuttlers are expected to bag gold’s.

Kabaddi: the Desi Indian sport since its inception into the games in 1990 has always seen the Indian team bagging gold; we hope we repeat the same this year.

Men’s Hockey team: – Bagging bronze last year was a heart break for the nation last year. Leading the Indian contingent hockey team captain Sardar Singh looks good and hopes the team will upgrade to a gold and get a direct Olympic entry.

Gagan Narang and Abhinav Bindra hold the 2 shooting medals Indians feel will be the easiest. As I write this article it gives me great pleasure to share Jitu Rai the Indian shooter has opened the gold medal tally with a shooting gold on the 1st day.

Wishing the Indian Contingent best of luck lets cheer our Guys CHAK DE!!!
