Indians share the limelight, as Donald Trump prepares to take oath

Many Indian celebrities have taken part in the events leading up to Donald Trump’s oath taking ceremony. Key among them is Indian-American DJ and drummer Ravi Jakhotia, who was the first performer in the inaugural concert for US President-elect Donald Trump. DJ Ravi delivered a memorable performance in front of thousands of Americans at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington.


DJ Ravi is a popular figure in the United States, having won the 2010 People’s Choice Award for World’s Best Innovative DJ/Drummer. He has also performed at Super Bowl and the Academy Awards. DJ Ravi accepted the offer to perform at Trump’s inaugural concert as he wanted to add diversity to the ceremony.

Indian Pop singer Mika Singh was also there, as part of the group invited for the pre-inauguration dinner organized by US President-elect Donald Trump. Mika shared his experiences on social media and said that he was honored to be a part of such an esteemed guest list. Mika also posted a selfie that he took at the meet alongside Mr. Trump’s daughter Ivanka. He added that Trump’s presence brightened up the whole evening.


On Saturday also, a Hindu priest will be part of the gathering of religious leaders who will offer prayers at the National Prayer Service of Mr. Trump. This will be the day after Donald Trump takes office as the 45th President of the United States.
