Speaking about the initiative, Ms. Jasmine Gandhi, Director of Billabong High International School & Kangaroo Kids said, “We are proud to host such one of a kind cricket tournament where all the leading schools of Delhi-NCR are participating. Our purpose of getting into the sports tournament is twofold. On one hand, it helps identify and promote young talent and gives them a well charted course to make it big in sports, on the other; it helps us get young children out into sports arenas and grounds. The formative years of cricket is this crucial period between ages 11 to 15. That is when, cricketers start discovering their mental as well as physical skills and orient themselves towards a particular discipline of the game like batting, bowling, wicket keeping and fielding. With changes in lifestyle, our children are not spending as much time playing as we would do in our childhood. We are confident that this tournament can emerge as a very powerful youth mobilization program. We wish all the participating young cricketers from all the schools the very best for the tournament”.
Further adding Ms. Gandhi said, “At BHIS Noida, we believe sports and games are an integral part of the Total Education of any child and makes valuable contributions to psychomotor, cognitive and affective domains. We hope that this initiative will serve as an ideal platform to identify and nurture young talented cricketers for them to be able to get noticed for district or state and national level teams in future”.
