June 05, 2018- World Environment day is a day when everyone around the world takes ownership of their environment and to actively participate in the protection of our World. On the occasion of The World Environment Day, ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) has conducted various activities like Beat Plastic Pollution and plantation drive etc across various cities in India.
The theme for World Environment 2018, urges governments, industry, communities, and individuals to come together and explore sustainable alternatives against the excessive plastic production to save our ocean, marine life and human health. ISHRAE stands committed to Environmental Responsibility & promotes the use of low GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants with Zero ODS (Ozone Depleting Substance).
It suggests measures to enhance energy efficiency & energy conservation, leading to emissions reduction. The main objectives are to give a human context, motivating people to become active agents of sustainable and equitable development, promote community role in changing attitude towards environmental issues and promote activities to protect the Environment, improve Indoor Air Quality, help Energy Conservation. This will definitely ensure all nations and people enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.
To contribute in favor of Beat the Plastic Pollution campaign, Mumbai office of ISHRAE has decided to put their thoughts into action, by initiating a plastic free campaign. The complete team has discarded plastic water bottles and replace them with steel jugs and glasses.
About ISHRAE- Founded in 1981 at New Delhi by a group of eminent HVAC&R professionals. ISHRAE today has total strength of society i.e. 25000 members. ISHRAE operates from 42 Chapters & Sub-chapters and 200+ student’s chapters (engineering colleges) spread all over India, with HQ in New Delhi. It is led by a team of elected officers, who are members of the Society, working on a voluntary basis, and collectively called the Board of Governors.
