Bangalore, Dolmur, Sasken Technologies is IT Company, which does farming of cabbage, spinach, tomato, sweet corn, okra, beans and many other vegetables. On weekly basis, there is a vegetable mandi inside company’s premises and employees can purchase fresh vegetables at rebate price. For past three months, the vegetables are being sold in the company’s premises.
This notion arrived when 4-acre land nearby to its office wasn’t being used totally; the land is owned by IT Company itself.
Sunil Dath Head-Facility Management and IT Operations of the company said that company’s CEO suggested using land in a greener way and finally it was decided to use land for cultivation purpose.
When notion appeared to be feasible, company was underway of cleaning up the area. Later on the soil was sent for testing to laboratory to know pH value, as pH value is necessary to understand, type of vegetables can be nurtured in the land.
Here employees are getting almost 20 per cent rebate in price compare to market. Dath also mentioned that vegetables are totally organic as chemicals or pesticides are not used to grow these vegetables.
