A Jain couple from Madhya Pradesh has decided to leave their three-year-old daughter and property worth around Rs 100 crore to become munis.(monks)
Sumit Rathore, 35, and his wife Anamika, 34, are scheduled to take deeksha(first step that the couple will take to become monks) under Sudhamargi Jain Acharya Ramlal Maharaj at Surat in Gujarat on September 23.
Their decision has sent shockwaves across their hometown Neemuch.
Following the decision, the locals have started asking questions to the couple and their family members, “what about their daughter, Ibhiya?’
To this Anamika’s father, Ashok Chandaliya who is a former Neemuch district president of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party said that he will take care of his grand daughter.
He added that no one could stop the couple from renouncing the world.
Notably this decision of the Jain couple is no shock to their loved ones.
Sumit announced his final decision to take deeksha during a gathering of Acharya Ramlal’s at Surat on August 22.
Acharya told him to seek Anamika’s permission. She gave consent and expressed her desire to take deeksha too.
The couple has been married for four years now and Anamika worked with Hindustan Zinc before marriage.
Sumit holds a diploma in import-export management from a college in London and looking after his family business.
Sumit’s cousin, Sandeep, who is close to him, said, “He had everything that a man wanted. Property worth around Rs 100 crore, a loving wife and a daughter. But he chose to renounce everything. We are stunned.”
