Japan deploys its biggest warship in Korean peninsula

After US summoning its warship, USS Carl Vinson, Japan has deployed its biggest warship to protect american vessels in the Korean peninsula increasing the tension further in the already heated environment. The Japanese warship is given the task in escorting US military ships off the Japanese coast.

Izumo, the helicopter carrier departed the Yokosuka port near Tokyo earlier Monday. However Japan’s defense ministry said the warship was deployed to participate in an international naval event in Singapore on May 15. This comes at the time when Mike Pompeo, Director of CIA made an unannounced visit to the Seoul on Monday along with his wife to hold a meeting with the head of South Korea’s National Intelligence Service an other officials to get himself apprised of the situation in the Korean peninsula.

North Korea conducted a missile test yet again on last Saturday sending signals of a possible strike and its intentions of not budging to the growing international pressure which saw America talking about imposing more sanctions when the President of USA, Dolad Trump has hosted an emergency meeting with G20 Ambassadors last week.

On the other hand, Australian PM Turnbull said “Today Australia and the United States continue to work with our allies to address new security threats around the world. Together, we’re taking a strong message to North Korea that we will not tolerate reckless, dangerous threats to the peace and stability of our region.”
