It is well known globally that Pakistan sponsors terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir, but in a new twist, the state’s Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has accused China of interfering in Kashmir issue. This has surprised everyone, as China-Pakistan relations are well known, but China’s involvement in Kashmir issue is a new thing. Mufti accused China after her meeting with Home Minister Rajnath Singh, which was held in Delhi today. Speaking about the recent attacks in Kashmir, Mufti said, “In this battle, external forces are involved in this. There is infiltration, militants are coming from outside and their efforts are to create unrest in Jammu and Kashmir… Unfortunately, even China has started interfering.”
Mufti did not provide details about how China is involved in the Kashmir issue, but she clearly said that the law and order problem in Kashmir was being created by external forces. Her statement comes in the wake of the recent terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims and India’s ongoing standoff with China in Sikkim regarding border issue. During the meeting with Singh, Mufti discussed strategies to improve the situation in Kashmir and enhance security for Amarnath pilgrims.
