At the inauguration of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) nursing college and auditorium in New Delhi, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that employment opportunities for one crore people will be created by the government in the next two years. The minister also said that the government’s skill development program has helped the country to create a skilled work force. Speaking about the government’s employment generation plans, Dattatreya said, “Employer-employee relationship has been cordial after the Narendra Modi-led government came to power, so I am fully confident that we will provide one crore people with employment in the next two years.”
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar and MP P C Mohan. Dattatreya is also hopeful that new legislations related to wage and industrial relations will get approval from the Parliament in the next session. The minister said that these legislations will benefit laborers and the working class. He pointed out that there are currently 44 central labor laws, which the government is planning to amalgamate into four broad labor code categories – wages, industrial relations, social security and safety and working conditions.
