Some time ago, Kamal Haasan had told his fans that they should be ready to march to Fort St George, which is where the Tamil Nadu Assembly stands. Today, he created even more speculations that he may be getting ready to join mainstream politics after he met Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in Thiruvananthapuram. His statement gave even more ammo to speculators that Haasan may finally be ready to enter the world of politics. After meeting Kerala CM, Kamal Haasan said that saffron was not his color. He said that he has always been inspired by left leaders and that’s where his loyalties may be. By the term ‘saffron’, Haasan was apparently referring to right wing parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Kamal Haasan said that anyone who would have observed him closely over the last 40 or so years would know that saffron was not his color. Both Haasan and Kerala CM Vijayan agreed that the meeting involved political talk, but neither of them provided any details of the discussion. During the meeting, everyone enjoyed a traditional Onam feast with the Chief Minister. “It was a friendly visit. But, politics was part of our talk. We spoke about south Indian politics and happenings in Tamil Nadu,” Pinarayi Vijayan said after the meeting.
