Government plans to auction country’s most prominent railway stations as part of its public private partnership projects that involves redeveloping these stations.
An online auction will take place on June 28 in which Kanpur and Allahabad junctions will go under hammer.
Interested companies can log on to railway website and bid for the junction.
In website, Kanpur junction has been fixed at Rs.200 crore and Allahabad junction has been fixed at Rs. 150 crore.
The auction results will be announced on June 30th.
Earlier government wants to refurbish 25 major stations including Bengaluru,Lokmanya Tilak in Mumbai, Pune , Thane, Vishakapatnam, Howrah, Allahabad, Kamakhya, Faridabad, Jammu Tawi, Bangalore cantonment, Bhopal, Mumbai Central, Borivali and Indore.
Railway minister Suresh Prabhu told ” India plans to auction 25 of the country’s most prominent railway stations at a minimum investment of Rs.30,000 crore for redevelopment “.
