Sacked Delhi minister Kapil Mishra today targeted Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party for orchestrating a donation scam. Mishra went ballistic in his accusations when he said that Arvind Kejriwal should quit as Delhi Chief Minister or else he will personally pull him by his collar and take him to Tihar Jail. Mishra said that AAP has underreported the amount of donations received. AAP had Rs 45.74 crore in its bank accounts during the financial year 2013-2014, but the party only reported Rs 9.42 crore to the Election Commission, Mishra said. Mishra further said that it was only after a notice given by Income Tax department that AAP revealed Rs 30.08 crore in donations to the Election Commission.
Mishra also accused AAP of accumulating money through shell companies. He alleged that such shell companies were floated by Aam Aadmi Party MLA Shiv Charan Goyal and his wife. Another accusation was that AAP was converting black money into white through hawala transactions. Mishra said that this is why AAP had protested the government’s move to demonetize Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.
However, responding to allegations leveled by Kapil Mishra, AAP said that the charges are baseless and there is no concrete evidence. The party also claimed that there’s a BJP-Kapil Mishra nexus in all of this. AAP also said that all of this is being done just to defame the party.
