In an another hate crime situation in Rajasthan, a 27 year old Kashmiri researcher left the premier education institute BITS, Pilani in Rajasthan due to alleged abuse and hate against him.
It is believed that he might be threatened by some unidentified persons and left the institute barely after three weeks since he joined the institute for Junior Research Fellow in pharmacy, science and engineering research board (SERB).
The scholar Hashim Sofi, from Bandipora district of Kashmir, had informed the hostel’s chief warden regarding the abuses and threats against him at the hostel. He claimed that door of him room and his cloths were inked with threats and abuses.
The administration of BITS Pilani has launched an investigation in this incident.
Media coordinator of the institute, Giridhar Kunkur had informed that the student had met the chief warden and now today, they have come to know that he left without informing the project investigator and institute authorities.
Kunkur also said that “The institute has taken serious note of the matter and has asked standing committee on student affairs to investigate the matter and submit a report swiftly.”
