After the allotment of land for AAP’s office was cancelled by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, AAP Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that he and his party were being unfairly targeted just because they are working for the rights of common people. Kejriwal pointed out that the cancellation of AAP’s office space was part of a larger plan to completely finish the party. He reasoned that since his party has taken action against the ruling mafia, it is being targeted in a way that is a threat to democracy. He said that he is ready to operate from the streets.
In a press conference, Kejriwal said that Congress and BJP have multiple offices in Delhi, and AAP has been denied even a single office space. “This must be the first time in independent India that a ruling party is being denied office space in the state where it is in power,” said Kejriwal. “Having an office is our right. We are not seeking a favor. It was allotted legally. We will place a fresh demand for an office. People are already offering us space,” he said.
