After a local television channel in Kerala aired an audio clip that had sexually explicit conversation, Kerala transport minister AK Saseendran has submitted his resignation. The television channel claims that the audio clip has captured the sexually explicit conversation between Saseendran and a woman. However, even though the minister has announced his resignation in a press conference, he continues to maintain that it is not his voice in the audio clip and that it is a political conspiracy to frame him.
A member of LDF ally Nationalist Congress Party, Mr. Saseendran maintains that he has never behaved improperly with anyone. He said that his resignation should not be viewed as an acceptance of his guilt. Talking to reporters, Saseendran said that his resignation is to uphold political morality. He also said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had not asked him to submit his resignation. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that the allegations are of a serious nature and the final decision will be taken based on thorough investigations.
