Khushii – Epicuria CSR initiative

60 less-privileged children were treated with food delicacies

New Delhi, 10th June 2015:Khushii (Kinship for Humanitarian, Social and Holistic Intervention in India) a non-governmental organization working to empower the poor and destitute communities in both rural and urban areas. Led by a team of committed philanthropists, and headed by legendary cricketer Mr. Kapil Dev, Khushii is delighted by this initiative of Epicuria Food mall, Nehru place of treating 60 less-privileged children with food delicacies on the 10th June 2015 from 4 – 6 PM. These Bright student’s from Khushii of standard Xth and XIIth scored extremely well in their CBSE examinations.

Children have so many dreams & desires! We at Khushii feel happy to see the sparkle in their eyes when they do things they wish to & dream off! It’s a treat for them to go out and eat or go see a movie! 400 millions of India’s citizens are below the age of eighteen, making it the world’s largest child population. A staggering proportion of these children go through their childhood with their basic needs unmet. 63 % of Indian children go to bed hungry, 53 % suffer from chronic malnutrition, 20 million Indian children live on the streets; 60 million are deprived of education, and 85 million have never been immunized. Established 12 years ago, Khushii has been taking steps to ameliorate these conditions and is proud of the impact it has made on communities via interventions in education, health and hygiene and gender equality. It continues to grow and expand its flagship initiative Shikshantra which aims at remedial education for the less privileged to make them independent contributing members of society. Khushii today is touching the lives of 10000, people every day.
