Tomorrow will be an important day for the Indian government as well as all Indians, as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will be announcing its verdict in the Kulbhushan Jadhav case. It may be recalled that Jadhav was handed the death sentence by a Pakistani military court on charges of espionage. The death sentence awarded to Jadhav was protested across India and when the government failed to resolve the matter through diplomatic channels, it had to approach the ICJ to get justice for Jadhav. The ICJ had already heard the arguments from both sides on Monday, and tomorrow, it will be announcing its verdict at 3:30 PM
As per the argument put forward in defense of Jadhav, India had said that Pakistan has violated the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. India said that Pakistan denied Jadhav any type of legal and other assistance from India. India requested the court that the execution order on Jadhav should be stayed. On the other hand, Pakistan had argued that the case may not be in the jurisdiction of the ICJ. Pakistan even tried to show the confession video of Jadhav to ICJ, but the same was dismissed by the court.
