Landslides triggered by heavy rains kill at least 35 in Bangladesh

Heavy monsoon rains have killed at least 35 people in Southeast Bangladesh most of them burried  under landslides.

Police warned that the death toll would likely rise as emergency workers reached remote parts of the affected area where there is no telephone and transport links.

“The recovery work is still going on” said Reaz Ahmed ,HOD , Disaster Management.

Most of the death occurred in Rangamatiand Bandarban had been pounded by heavy rain since monday morning.

Rangamati had been pounded by 13.5% inches of rain.

Heavy monsoon rains also pounded in Dhaka and Chittagong , disrupting traffic movement for hours. 

The latest disaster after cyclone mora killed atleast eight people and damaged ten thousands of homes.
