Mumbai, Nov 4 (IANS) Latvian Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis, accompanied by a high-level delegation, called on Maharashtra Governor C. V. Rao at the Raj Bhavan, officials said here.
The two discussed issues of mutual interest between the Baltic country and Maharashtra.
Kucinskis arrived in India on Thursday on a five-day visit, took part in the World Food India 2017 expo held in New Delhi and later met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He will inaugurate the new Latvian Consulate in Mumbai and participate in the Latvia-India transport and logistics conference titled “Latvia: India’s Gateway to Europe and CIS Countries” here.
At the Raj Bhavan, Kicinskis was accompanied by Latvian Ambassador to India Aivars Groza, State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Andrejs Pildegovics, Prime Minister’s Office head Maris Krastins, Foreign Affairs Advisor Anda Catlaka and Press Secretary Andrejs Vaivars.
Honorary Consul of Latvia in Maharashtra Capt. Avinash Batra and India’s Ambassador to Latvia Monika K. Mohta were also present on the occasion.
